WordPress Theme of the Week: Purity
I am a big fan of clean and minimalistic web design and Purity is a WordPress Theme that strictly follows those guidelines. Theme starts with a light grey menu with a subtle red hover effect. I just love the color combination. It is clean and really friendly to the eyes.
Slideshow has become a standard in today’s web design and this WordPress theme is no different. Design is as simple as it gets and it fits in perfectly with the overall design of the theme. A simple quote beneath the slideshow has also lately become a standard extra candy that a lot of WordPress Themes have. It is executed perfectly in grey and red color combination and really stands out.
Portfolio and From the Blog column are there to present your latest work and posts. Recent Work part is so simple and smooth that I couldn’t stop hovering over it. Latest posts section is executed without featured images which fit well into the overall design, even though I prefer themes that use images for latest posts.
Theme comes in dark and light skin, ten different backgrounds to choose from and ten different color schemes. I think the default setting of the Theme is actually the best (light skin, white background with the default color scheme) but it is nice to have other options to meet various customers demand. Theme is best used as a personal portfolio or as a site for a small company.
