Facebook Timeline for Fan Pages Update

Blog No Comments

We have migrated to the new Facebook timeline for Fan Pages over the weekend and I think the page looks better / flashier now. Along with these change there is an important update to one of our premium plugins which implements Facebook Page Themes via WordPress installation. You can read more about the changes below.

As a reminder Facebook announced on February 29, 2012 that Facebook is rolling out Timeline for Facebook Pages. It will go live on March 30, 2012 but you can already migrate your Fan Page to the new Timeline look.

WordPress Plugin: Facebook Page Themes Update

Last year we developed a unique WordPress plugin that allows you to create and manage your Facebook Fan Page Applications from within the WordPress Dashboard. It was very well received and it also became a part of the special Envato Web Design Bundle which has been sold in several thousand copies. We were asked by many buyers whether we will redesign the plugin to meet the new standards set by Facebook (width of the Canvas will be set to 810px on 30th of March). We are happy to announce that the development is now finished and that you can already see the upgraded Facebook Themes on our Fan Page. Plugin can be purchased on the premium market for WordPress plugins, CodeCanyon.

This was the perfect time to not just extend the plugin to 810px width but to also do some design improvements. We changed several aspects of the design on all Themes to make them more attractive and functional. The extended width will surely come in handy since you will be able to add much more content to the Themes (especially on portfolio section).

For those who wish to keep the old canvas width (520px) there is a separate plugin included. You now have the ability to have a 810px plugin on one WordPress installation and 520px on a different one. Please note that you can not have both plugins installed on the same WordPress installation.

If you need more information about these new changes about Facebook Timeline for Pages be sure to read the article on Hyperarts. They explain in details everything there is to now about this Facebook novelty.

First uninstall and delete the old plugin (including the files). Then install the new plugin and activate it. Please note that you will have to add the content once again since several settings are different and you can now have more portfolio items on the home and portfolio page due to wider Canvas.

You can check our Facebook Page and see how the plugin themes look like in live action:
