TUESDAY FONTS: Anders, Novecento Wide and Sail
Tuesday is here and so is our category: Tuesday Fonts. This time we present to you Anders, Novecento Wide and Sail.
It is an uppercase-only font family inspired on european typographic tendencies between the second half of 19th century and first half of the 20th. It looks rational and geometric. However, it is optically corrected and balanced. This font face is designed to be used mostly for headlines, visual identities or short sentences, both in big and small sizes. Lighter faces provide a more contemporary and design look&feel, while the bolder ones definitely look retro. Novecento Slab family comes in 32 styles, speaks 76 latin based languages, has 590 glyphs and 16 stylistic opentype features for advanced typography.
This is an experimental project Tom Anders Watkins decided to create. He thought to create something, he could give to everyone, almost as a thank you to the overwhelming support his work has received. Using influences from modern font design, he wanted something very minimal and a little unique, here’s the result. Feel free to use it commercially or personally, just let him know how you use it.
Sail is a Didot script for headline, display and poster uses. A fresh air comes to all the glyphs, its windy uppercases are especially suited for display texts and web navigation. Elegant swashes and a clean lowercases also make it suitable for larger paragraphs.
Hope you liked our Tuesday fonts.
